About Us

The Sanford Concert Series shares the vision of Colonel Henry Sanford to foster local and professional musical talent. The Series promotes classical music, supports emerging artists by bringing them to the attention of the people of St. Mary's County and its surrounding areas, and encourages fellowship between the performers and audience.

Lyn Schramm, artistic director for the Series, graduated cum laude from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's in Music Education as a string specialist. The first co-recipient of the Motor Wheel Foundation Grant for Graduate Study, she received her Master's in Music Education with an emphasis in keyboard and choral music also from Michigan State University. She has served as an accompanist, organist, cellist, choral director, and music educator throughout the U.S. and Japan. Currently, Mrs. Schramm is Minister of Music at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in California, Maryland, Artistic Director of The Sanford Concert Series at St. Andrew’s, and music instructor at St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, Maryland. She also is a private instructor in cello. lyn.schramm@gmail.com.

Robin Witte, who serves as the assistant to the artistic director, is a native of Syosset, New York, and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Civil Engineering. Although an engineer by degree, she has always dabbled in the fine arts, including scene design, stage lighting and theater art. After college, Robin moved to Fort Worth, Texas, where she worked for General Dynamics/Lockheed Martin on various aircraft development programs. She began her career as a structural design engineer and worked her way up to an engineering chief/team lead with design and integration responsibility on an international program. She is currently the Civilian Chief Engineer on the P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft Program with the Navy at NAS Patuxent River. rswitte@gmail.com
